Comprehensive renovation/restoration of A Listed Georgian four-storey townhouse in World Heritage site in Edinburgh’s New Town.
This beautiful A Listed townhouse had been bedsits since the 1960s and was in a serious state of disrepair.
A major structural wall was removed at Lower Ground level to create a massive open-plan kitchen with door onto the garden.
The floor of this room had to be completely removed to accommodate temporary supports for the structural work.
What had been 3 bedrooms when we purchased the building was restored to this wonderful drawing-room.
The original cupola was restored bringing light down through the main stairwell.
A cool, contemporary en-suite was added to serve the master bedroom.
Master bedroom adjoins drawing room.
All period detail was retained, restored or re-made.
